2020-2021: Swolenoid

The game for 2020 was Destination: Infinite Recharge. During the 2 minute 30 second game, two competing alliances of three teams will work to protect FIRSTCity from approaching asteroids. Each alliance must race to collect and store Power Cells to energize each of their Shield Generators. To activate each stage of the Shield Generator, teams manipulate their Control Panels after scoring a specific number of Power Cells. Before the match ends, droids must race to their Rendezvous Point to get their Shield Generator operational for the city’s protection.

Because of the Covid-19 pandemic, FIRST competitions were canceled. This meant that our team did not have the opportunity to compete during the 2020 season. This led FIRST to renew Infinite Recharge for the 2021 season.

During the 2021 season, Swolenoid competed virtually with the At Home Challenges. Our team had to compete in different timed races as well as launching challenges. The racing challenges included a barrel race and as well as two other races with a maze-like path. The launching challenges included an accuracy challenge to test our robots ability to hit the target on point, as well as a speed challenge to test how quick we could align accurate shots.
