About Us
FIRST Team 2130 was started in 2007 by Edward Katz, a now retired chemistry and physics teacher at Bonners Ferry High School. Bonners Ferry is a small town in rural Northern Idaho with a population of 2,515. Our town was founded on agriculture and logging businesses, so our technologically-based team adds variety to our small town. Most of our sponsors are from local companies and individuals, though we have been privileged to receive sponsorship from larger companies such as Autodesk and The Boeing Company.
FIRST Team 2130 Alpha+ is currently made up of 12 students and 10 mentors. Our team focuses on hard work and the importance of putting all our effort into a task. Teamwork is also important to FIRST Team 2130. Although each individual has a different job, everyone works together toward the same goals—inspiring interest and recognition of science and technology and instilling the values of Gracious Professionalism.
