2022 Week 5 Update

So here we are again, at the end of the week with plenty of beans to spill. Our week ended with much excitement and anticipation for a built robot. During the week, we began CNCing parts, but ran into some technical difficulties. On Friday, we worked primarily on troubleshooting those issues and eventually worked out the kinks. Saturday was a day filled with noise as we got various aluminum parts CNCed. Build also got a temporary chassi built and now we’ve made our flatbot aluminum instead of wood, programmers are already noticing a difference when it comes to driving. Programmers continued work on things from the previous weeks and fixed our swerve drive mechanism and were able to find the shortest path for driving. They were also able to figure out a way to go faster and are able to go approximately 16ft/second. Our lead programmer, Cory, also created the skeleton code for our robot. Business was able to write grant proposals and continued taking pictures, researching grants, updating our website, and worked on updating the sponsor wall. We look forward to continuing this work and welding this coming week.
